It seems very interesting. It is cool to read something with such a review from a well-known author. I like how he is using symbolism, allusion, and these other literacy devices. I am getting a bit lost as we read this. I didn't even know what Salem was until today. I didn't understand what the deal was with the wife and her pink ribbon. I didn't care for the whole religious part. I am not religious so half of it I didn't even understand. I am not a catholic or a Christian but I'm not an atheist either. I am unsure.

1. He wanted us to tell us that we make a choice, we can believe in angels or you can believe that people are evil. He has a choice to make it's good or evil.
2. Goodman saw faith to be his happiness and the person that he can count on. But after the walk through the woods, he feels like he can't trust her. He thinks she is lying about him having nightmares. She seemed to only care about him regarding the parts outside the forest, running to him giving him a kiss.
3. I think it symbolizes innocents. Whenever I think of ribbons, especially pink ones, I think of a little innocent girl. That might be there the author was leading. Goodman didn't think she could be evil because she was so innocent.
4. I think he could have been dreaming because he did sleep in the forest. Had Goodman Brown fallen asleep in the forest, and only dreamed a wild dream of a witch-meeting." Though some may argue that he could have woke up. Then again, he could've.
5. It was the devil. The devil according to some it can take any form. So in this writing, it took the form of an old man. I believe it was the devil because a girl walked by and screamed, "the devil."
6. I think it is representing the snake from the story Adam & Eve. Then he continous into the forest like the girl does with the apple. She goes on due to curiosity.
7. I think he probably would still be the same because I think he is dreaming. So, I am sure he would have the dream of the whole thing all over but at home. Leading him to be afraid of everything.
