Maybe I am not cut out for such a reading, I felt like half of the article I was searching up what each word meant. I felt like this article is good to teach someone something new or to let them know what they are doing has a name. It is very informational. I did enjoy the rules part:
- Never use a metaphor, simile, or other figure of speech which you are used to seeing in print.
- Never use a long word where a short one will do.
- If it is possible to cut a word out, always cut it out.
- Never use the passive where you can use the active.
- Never use a foreign phrase, a scientific word, or a jargon word if you can think of an everyday English equivalent.
- Break any of these rules sooner than say anything outright barbarous.
I rule number two, maybe because I don't have such high vocabulary. These are actually quite helpful, they all make sense. Like why have all those extra words when you don't need them?
