Ancient Rhetoric in Modern Times

Logos was introduced in the title and the starting paragraphs. Talking about self-driving cars and what they should do at a crosswalk. He was very clear and provided data and argumentive sentences. He also added in studies to support some of his sentences which supported the claim. I liked the author's ethos it was very straightforward with what he was writing about. Addressing the concerns of the car's and issues. Letting the audience know that there is a debate going on with the cars. Pathos in it is the writer asking what would we do in the situation, save one or five? Kairos is perfect, he is addressing the problem with self-driving cars when they are starting to be developed and brought into the world. He is explaining may be that we aren't ready for this yet and that the mechanics and designers need to look into it more before such a thing can be on the streets.

Anatomy of a Persuasive Argument

The argument will be about going out with friends:

Logos:
- I did all my homework
- I will give you updates if we go somewhere else
- We won't be out late

Ethos:
- Stay calm
- Don't yell or get attitude
- Be understanding

Pathos:
- Use examples of things I wouldn't  do
- Talk about things we will do
- Let them know that I have never done
bad things and they know that

Kairos:
- I never go out
- Only sports, school and work
- I might not be in Santa Maria in a few years

Let me walk you through the pedestrian

Starry nights are nice and usually and quiet. That's how it started for Leonard. He was quite an observer, walking late nights and watching how he was the only one out there while others slept or watched TV. He continued his nightly trip before he was stopped by the police because he was walking at night. They didn't understand why someone would do such a thing and began to question him if about why he was out as if he was a lunatic for wanting to go on a stroll. They just couldn't believe that someone would want to go on a walk for the air, to see and to walk. He did get up in the police car and got drove off. I just want you to think he predicted that in the future that people would just be looking at their screens and that the people that don't do that and go for walks or reads books are judged as if it out of the ordinary.

Story of my life

Well, let's see most of my life is like on repeat as if someone keeps restarting the day over and I get to make a different choice that makes small changes. I guess I can talk about the day where my big question actually started a conversation with one of my teachers. I was working on my blog catching up on work and editing post then I decided to ask my teacher to read my post, I was currently in the class I TA for. So I sat down and waited for him to read the post and after he was done he asked if it was my blog and I explained to him what we do this class and he thought it was a pretty cool thing then asked about the post. Therefore I started to explain to him that we all had to choose a big question that we want to focus on throughout the school year. After we began to look into it more, forming different yet similar opinions. He was not choosing sides but he did give reasonings and what he thought was unfair. It was nice to talk to him but because it gave me insight into the question and more reasoning for me.

After I walked away, I ended up coming late to my class. In the end, it was worth it.

So this way goes for a walk

I think Ray Bradbury wrote this because he wanted to share this kinda absurd experience. Why was this person who did something "out of the ordinary"  get treated like so? He started to predict what the future would come to with people staring at their screens. Which is how it is now. The author turned this small event into his life and made it this whole thing erratic. He added so many details in the story which is admired because it made me feel as if I was there with him.

Literature Analysis #2

1. I remember reading it in elementary as a class assigned but so I decided to reread it at my new level so I can understand it more.

2. It started off slow but I wanted to get through it hoping that it would pick up.
3. I try to picture myself there with the character, with this book it was Harry Potter. I try going on the adventure with him. Sometimes I have to reread parts to fully understand it.

The story is about a young bullied boy. His parents were killed and he was forced to live with his aunt, uncle, and cousin. He then turns 11 years old and finds out that he is a wizard. From there he starts to explore this whole new world that he had no idea about, let alone that he could've been apart of. He meets his arch-enemy and his best friends in this story. FOr this book, the main bad guy was a teacher who was being controlled by the murderous villain Voldemort. The wizard that killed Harry's parents. He has to fight him off and survive him once again after he was going after a stone that grants immortality.

The value of my time

Honestly, today is highly stressful. I mean I'm not going to say why but there is a lot going on. There always is life isn't so simple but here we are pushing through it. I don't know what to do to relieve this type of stress. I am doing all my work when I have the chance even if it is 5 minutes I continue to do my homework. It is hard to figure out what you have to do to get to your goal in the future because there is just so much to do.

Hawthorne & Poe on Dreams

I think the reasoning why both of them, Hawthorne and Poe make us believe that is the deal is real is the details. They describe everything so well throughout it that it makes the story/poem sound real. Hawthorne uses literary devices like symbolism and allusion. Poe uses symbolism as well. Though he has other literacy devices like metaphors and personification.

Letter to my mentor

I was looking for something to support my big question and during my search, it was hard to come across and site that would help. I searched many things to get something to help me with my big question and even though it is aimed towards men it continued to bring up women. That bugs me because yes women are a victim of different types of abuse but SO ARE MEN. So I came across this writing by Natasha Tracy. I just want to thank her first and then as I read it I notice that she gave all these reasons and why these people stay. It was nice to read somethings and agree with it all. I just hate that people have this stereotype against men that they are terrible people. Not all are and sometimes it is the women.

First impression of a dream

My first impression was confusion, I reread it a couple of times because I didn't really seem to understand it at first. As I got to start reading it over and over again until I realize that there are two things going on. The first part is about sad love and the other one the person is on the beach that just seems mad. Not really maybe the fact that it is also about a dream as well.

My dream within a dream
