Training like a Memory Champion

My memory SUCKS! I have tried so many things to memorize stuff and eventually I memoize it but by the time I do it is too late. I forget stuff,  so quick it is crazy. This blog was interesting, I didn't really understand what the number/letter thing. I liked remembering the name thing though. "For Mr. Mullen, in a made-up example, that was hair color. The trait most noticeable about “Karen” was her orange hair, about the same shade as a carrot"
It is a smart technique.

How I Read

I love to read Fiction books, the ones full of magic or Gods. Some of my favorite books are full of wizards, daughters/sons of Gods or Goddess. Sounds cheesy to like a kid like book but they are so interesting and they catch my attention.

Hack to School

1. This class is about learning how to write, talk to others and comprehend questions that we are given every day.
2. The easiest thing in this class is sitting down and listening to our teacher talk.
3. The hardest thing in this class listening to everything and write notes.
4. I have learned how to have a blog. Editing it, posting and commenting.
5. "Why are men constantly considered the bad guy in a relationship when women are as bad or worst?"

A SOCRATIC SEMINAR

We got to be able to talk as a class about mainly love. How could we still love each other and hurt then? Or if you could love someone and cheat. I stayed quiet mostly, listening to all these girls bashing on men basically.  I was whispering things to someone that sits right near me saying that "why are these girls making it seem like if guys are always the problem?"

Now I Remember

Memorizing has always been hard for me. I don't have the best memory so I tend to forget mostly everything. I  don't even remember what I ate yesterday. To memorize something I usually do this...

He jumped
He ran
He stopped
He sat

So I started by reading the lines then I cover them all but the first.  After I read the first I say the second then so on. If I messed up on the third then I got to restart.

"He jumped, he ran, he sat. Wrong again. He jumped..."
That is what I do.

Today I asked a Question

Well, to be honest, I was gone this day. I did go back and looked at what I missed and saw that we had to ask a question. So I did so, I asked, "Why are men constantly considered the bad guy in a relationship when women are as bad or worst?"

Getting to Know You

I am quite shy but as you get to know me I become this new person. Today we had to walk around and socialize with everyone to get to know each other. Yeah, that's pretty fun but now that I sit here I think, "Oh this girl paints or that girl can move her ears." It didn't change anything. I only learned a single thing about them. But maybe that's the problem, I only know ONE thing.

Why Your Not Entitled to Your Opinion

Why Your Not Entitled to Your Opinion
Why you aren't entitled, because it's one or all, your age, color, or beliefs. Yes, everyone has a right to an opinion but yet you aren't entitled to it. People shut you down just because you believe different, saying you're wrong. People of color don't even get an opinion or freedom of speech because the opposing race thinks they are the superior. People even think just because you are a teenager that you don't know what you are doing or how things work. People think we aren't entitled but we all are, regardless of color, age, beliefs or anything else. No one has the right to not allow you to have your freedom of speech.

A SECOND HELPING OF SOCRATIC SEMINAR/ I AM NOT [?] ENTITLED TO MY OPINION

rights
you have your own opinion, stops the conversation
what does it mean when u say rights
the right is something other people must honor
if he crossed the street  you have the right to cross it, you have to stop driving

I'm entitled to my opinion
no your not
we have different parts of our brains, love, friends, appreciation, front part
we have a part of our brain that doesn't think but works still
a part of our brain works when we argue shifts from logic to emotions
we need to keep our emotions away from the problem
evidence = currency
you need to have evidence to your opinion, know what you are talking about
location of your parents
dress code
everyone wants to be an individual

a syllogism is the simplest argument

the classic phrase "don't you judge me"
all of us want to fit in
watched a burrito being homemade looks good
half uncooked blue
if you can't judge the burrito then you don't deserve it

The Right to Your Opinion

The Right to Your Opinion

I believe we all a right to our own opinion. We should be able to have our own beliefs and right. Who is there to say we can't have our freedom of speech? I do agree if you want to have a right to your own opinion that you should have evidence to support your claim and not just argue about something that doesn't make any sense. I enjoy that you let us have such freedom that other teachers don't let us have.

The Socratic Method

Thoughts On The Socratic Method

I was looking at the page at first and thought wow that's a lot to read but as I read it I liked how you actually used an example of the method, showing it in action. I think it is an interesting technique because when asking the questions you are getting the other individual to really think about their response.  Making them rethink what they are trying to defend because they could have possibly not thought it through completely.
